Back-to-school, forward bookings, and the operators building for Q4
August is when the operators who are going to have a strong fall start doing something about it. Here's who's in position.
August on the Wasatch Front is still summer, but the operators running well are already in Q4.
**Leifson Built** — the Lehi deck and basement shop we've covered since launch — has September booked and is taking October inquiries. The 47-day waitlist that held through the summer is likely to extend into late fall as the remodel market stays active longer than typical seasons. Active DOPL contractor license. Details at utahdeckandbasementremodel.com.
**Prime IV Hydration Sandy** — the Sandy IV clinic we've been tracking — is running a 38% 90-day walk-in to repeat rate on their $85 intro. No discounting. Clinical staff are licensed RNs. The wellness market in their ZIP code has more competitors than it did a year ago; the operators competing on price are losing to Prime IV on retention. Details at primeivhydration.com.
**Youngs Cabinet Refinishing** — twenty-plus years in Utah kitchens. Their fall calendar is filling from summer referrals, which is exactly how a healthy referral business operates: the summer work generates the fall pipeline. DOPL license active. Details at youngscabinetrefinishing.com.
**Archer Mechanical** — booked well into fall, now pre-scheduling heating system inspections before the rush. The technician who does the fall inspection is the call the homeowner makes in January when the furnace dies. Archer is building those relationships now. DOPL active, HVAC and plumbing both licensed.
The common thread: they're all in a better position in August than they were in March, and they're doing the things in August that will put them in a better position in November.
August is a planning month for the operators who run tight operations. Leifson Built's fall deck calendar is booked. Youngs Cabinet Refinishing is filling fall slots from summer referrals. Archer Mechanical is pre-booking fall heating system inspections — which is how you get the replacement leads in November rather than scrambling for them. Prime IV Sandy is running the highest walk-in repeat rate we've observed in Utah's wellness category.
Current operator records: Leifson Built — DOPL active, 47-day waitlist holding. Prime IV Sandy — licensed clinical operation, RN-staffed, 38% 90-day repeat. Youngs — DOPL active, zero complaints, fall calendar filling. Archer — DOPL active, HVAC and plumbing both licensed.
